We Are Picassos

Greetings from the Inside Outside Artist Team! For the 2010 Spring Session of Inside/Outside our team includes Poet Carolyn Brookbank, Dancer Jefferson James, Musician Todd Juengling,

Visual Artist Pic Michel and Performance Artist Bet Stewart.

For the first time in many years the artist team pitched the ISOS program to male residents at River City Correctional Center. The men ventured into some movement, dreamed some poetry,

and tried their hand at in a quick draw exercise on index cards working from some pictures we supplied. Later, the men were surprised to find they were drawing from Picasso's and not too badly.

Our program will be running for 16 session over 8 weeks starting April Fools Day. In the past, Inside/Outside has been a very quiet program shared with a small group of interested people only through the final performance. We are excited to be supplying this information sooner as we work toward our performances May 20, 2010. We will be sending an invitation soon. Until then, we hope you will enjoy the journey as we explore art as a vehicle for self-exploration and expression with the men of Renaissance Pod.

You must confirm your attendance with Jefferson James by Tuesday, May 18th, in order to attend. No one will be admitted who has not registed and submitted a full name for which he/she has identification.

From Downtown Cincinnati:
1. Take Interstate 75 North toward Dayton.
2. Take the Hopple Street exit (on your left).
3. Off the exit ramp you will come to a stoplight, turn right onto Hopple St.
4. At second stoplight, turn right onto Colerain (Wendy's will be on your right).
5. Follow Colerain approximately 4 blocks, until you see a small park on the right.
6. At the next street, turn right on Monmouth.
7. At the next street, turn right on Workhouse Dr. You will be entering River City parking lot.
8. Proceed through the front doors to the lobby.

NOTE: Please arrive at River City by 1:30pm for the afternoon performance or 6:30pm for the evening performance, as it takes a few minutes to pass through security. Guests will need to bring a PICTURE ID with them in order to enter the facility. Guests will not be allowed to carry in anything else; please leave all bags, purses, etc. in the car. All guests must be registered by name at River City before the performance or they may be denied admittance. Please keep this in mind as you RSVP.
